Malai Kofta Recipe: You must have tasted Malai Kofta in a party or in a restaurant. Malai Kofta is one of the most liked vegetables because of its excellent taste. This is the reason why the cream of party functions is known as Kofta. The taste of Malai Kofta is liked by adults as well as children because this vegetable is not very spicy. If you like the taste of Malai Kofta and want to make it at home, then you can make it by following some easy tips.

Ingredients to make Malai Kofta
Paneer – 300 grams
Potato – 4-5
Malai/Cream – 1 cup
Maida – 2-3 tbsp
Tomato – 2-3
Onion – 2
Ginger – 1 inch piece
Cashew – 1 tbsp
Raisins – 1 tbsp
Cashew paste – 3 tbsp
Milk – 3 tbsp
Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
Kasuri fenugreek – 1 tbsp
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Sugar – 1 tbsp
oil – as required
salt – as per taste
Malai Kofta Recipe
To make Malai Kofta full of taste, first boil the potatoes. After this, keep the boiled potatoes in the fridge for 5-6 hours. Keeping potatoes in the refrigerator will cool them down well, this will make it easier to make koftas and their taste will also increase. After the fixed time, take out the potatoes from the fridge, peel them off and mash them in a bowl. Now crush the paneer in the same bowl. Now mix paneer and potatoes well.

When the potatoes and paneer are mashed properly, add flour to it and mix. Keep in mind that this mixture should neither be too hard nor too soft, otherwise there may be a problem in making koftas. After this, cut dry fruits into fine pieces and mix sugar in them.
Now put oil in a pan for heating. While the oil is heating, prepare round balls of the paneer-potato mixture and stuff dry fruits in between. After this put these balls of koftas in hot oil and deep fry them. Fry the koftas till they turn golden brown. After this, take them out in a plate and keep them aside.
Now cut tomatoes and prepare a paste with the help of a mixer. After this make a paste of onion and ginger. Now put 2 tbsp oil in a pan and after heating add onion-ginger paste and fry it. After some time add tomato paste and cook. Add cashew paste to it as well. After cooking the gravy for some time, add 2-3 tbsp milk and then add all the dry spices and kasoori methi to the gravy and cook it.

When the gravy is cooked well and starts leaving oil, add half a cup of water (as needed) and cook till the gravy becomes slightly thick. After this add cream and 1 tsp sugar to it, mix and let it cook. When the gravy is ready, add fried koftas to it and mix with the help of a ladle. Malai Koftas full of restaurant like taste are ready to serve.
